Located in resort area of Yatsugatake highland, the cottage is surrounded by larch and white birch trees, where provides peaceful nature ambience.
The approach is from the north side of the cottage. Yatsugatake mountain range can be seen from the north side.
Substruction has designed relatively higher in consideration of privacy. There are living and dining in a large opening area in line with south-north direction. Bed room locates in the west area. The living room has build as open ceiling and the north side of the ceiling can be used as a loft space.
There are not many houses around the cottage as the area has been developed not long time ago, however the cottage will be fit into the surrounded landscape gradually.
敷地は八ヶ岳高原の別荘地で、周囲はカラ松、白樺などの自然が広かる静かで落ちついた雰囲気の場所です。敷地のアプローチはＹ字の道路の北角からで、北側には八ヶ岳連峰の山々が望めます。
設計に当り、プライバシーを考慮し基礎部分を上げました。平面は周囲の眺望から南北方向に開口部を大きく取り居間・食堂、西側に寝室を配置し、居間の上部を吹抜、その北側をロフトスペースを設けています。
開発まもない別荘ゆえに周辺には建物が少なく、この山荘も時が経つにつれ別荘地の風景に馴染むことと思われます。
